How to Plant a Raised
Vegetable Garden
by Julie McMurchie
The work is minimal, with no digging or turf removal necessary. The
raised garden is placed right over the existing surface, all you need to do
is find a level spot, make sure the vegetation is cut low, lay down a weed
barrier, and set up your garden.
Vegetable gardening is increasing in popularity and the economy
continues to stick it to us. Learning how to garden isn’t difficult, and with
these tips, you can easily plant a vegetable garden this weekend. Before
you know it, you’ll be enjoying garden fresh vegetables from your own
backyard.
Raised vegetable gardens can
produce a large amount of food
in a very small space. Rather
than rows planted two or three
feet apart, raised bed gardening
is condensed gardening, which
makes it perfect for small yards,
and even patios.
